Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become plan managed?

To be plan managed, you must have ‘Improved Life Choices’ included in your NDIS plan. At your planning meeting you can tell the LAC or NDIS Planner you would like a plan manager to support you. The NDIS will include funding in your plan to pay for your plan manager.

What does a plan manager do?

The role of a Plan Manager is to help you navigate the NDIS system, so you can make the most of your funding and achieve your goals. If you choose to be plan-managed, the Plan Manager handles all the paperwork involved in making purchases or paying for services through the scheme.

A Plan Manager will:

  • Receive invoices and pay providers on your behalf
  • Reimburse you if required
  • Make claims via the NDIS portal
  • Communicate directly with your service providers regarding the status of payment requests
  • Help you budget and keep track of your funds
  • Take care of the required financial reporting for you
  • Discuss your plan with you, including what you like and don’t like about it
  • Show you how to access your portal
What technology does Aver have available?

Careview Advantage App

The Careview Advantage App is designed to give you complete visibility of your NDIS funding and the invoices we are paying on your behalf. We highly suggest all our participants use the app, as they can have more choice and control when having full visibility of the funding within their plan.

Careview Connect

The Careview Connect technology allows Support Coordinators, carers or service providers to access your NDIS funding information, creating a single, consolidated viewpoint. This information can only be accessed upon your consent. Funding information, such as monthly service delivery, is presented with easy-to-read graphs, and budget timelines help to ensure your funding can be easily tracked.

What are some possible reasons invoice payment is delayed?

– The invoice was not sent to accounts@averplanmanangers.com.au

– There are not enough funds in the correct category

– The service you’re requesting payment for is not plan managed

– Your plan has expired and we haven’t been provided with a copy of your new plan

– The service provider did not provide us with a BSB and account number

– The NDIA has not fully paid out the invoice request and Aver need to re-request

Can we meet?

Yes! We love meeting with our clients and enjoy taking the time to get to know you better. The Aver team are happy to travel (including interstate) to meet you, but also provide flexible meeting options including Zoom, Skype, phone call or conference call. If you would like to meet our team, we would love for you to get in touch.

Does plan management cost me money or reduce my funding?

No. Aver’s plan management service doesn’t cost you anything out of pocket. When you request to be plan managed, the NDIS will include ‘Improved Life Choices’ funding in your plan to pay for this service. This is separate from your other services and supports in your budget. The initial set up and monthly plan management service is an additional funded amount in your plan, and will not affect your NDIS general allocation of funding.

What is plan management?

The overarching function of plan management is to assist and support NDIS participants to manage their NDIS funding. Plan management is about having a third party to communicate with service providers and pay invoices on your behalf. Plan managers process invoices and store receipts for you, so you don’t have to claim payments through the NDIS portal. At Aver, you will also receive regular statements, as well as have 24/7 access to an app outlining your services and funding. Plan management also allows more flexibility in how you spend your NDIS funds, allowing you to use both registered and unregistered providers.

What are the benefits of using a plan manager?

Plan Management has a few distinct advantages:

  • You can buy supports from non-registered service providers, giving you more options (like local community members or organisations and therapists who have chosen not to register as an NDIS provider).
  • You don’t have to use the NDIS Portal or manage payments.
  • You have assistance in navigating the NDIS and someone to help you make the most of your plan.
  • You have most of the choice and control of self-management without having to deal with the administrative work.
Can I transfer to Aver from another plan manager mid plan?

Yes! Aver will happily provide plan management services mid plan if you are wanting to change providers. If you are transferring from another plan manager during the dates of the current plan, you will need to ask your previous plan manager to cancel their service booking and reduce their available funds to zero. Then, to sign up with Aver: call us and we’ll get you set up over the phone or quickly and easily register online.

Do you work with service providers?

Yes we do. Aver believe that by opening up communication and encouraging collaboration, we can reduce the confusion and frustration commonly found between NDIS participants and their service providers regarding payment. Aver work with service providers to resolve any funding issues and assist with queries and concerns.

Do you give out my information?

You will receive a consent form from us, and we need this signed by either you or your representative before we will disclose any information to service providers or family. We do this to ensure your information is kept safe. This consent form can either be accessed on our website, or we are able to send this to you via email or post upon request. You can be assured that even with this form filled out, we will still ask callers to provide some identifying information before we give out any personal details.
